Wedding Gift Ideas

wedding gift with big red bowThe type of gift that would be perfect for a couple depends on how you know them. If you are a close relative then giving a practical gift that they can use around the home is a nice idea. If you are a close friend then you might want to give something that is more associated with the couple’s personality. If you are an acquaintance who just happened to be lucky enough to get an invite, then you might want to stick with the good old standby of giving cash.

Often times rather than just give cash, people will want to give something different and out of the ordinary. Here are a few ideas for things that might fit that scenario.

• You could give the couple some type of personalized gift that they can either use on a regular basis or on special occasions. His and her big fluffy cotton bath robes are nice gifts. You can get their names stitched into them.

• You could get them a set of engraved wine glasses or champagne glasses that mark the date of their wedding.

• Engraved photo frames make nice gifts as well. You can order them online.

• I saw a couple get an engraved doorknocker for the front door on their home. It was engraved with their names and their wedding date.

• If they have a garden or a landscaped walkway that winds up toward their home you could get them a decorative rock that has their names engraved on it. You could also just have it say “Welcome to the Jones Family Home”

• A really nice set of kitchen knives is always welcome by anyone who does a fair amount of cooking. Make sure you get a really well constructed high end knife set.

• You can purchase bed and breakfast gift cards that will allow them to stay at a number of very nice bed and breakfast homes across the United States. Giving them a gift like that allows them to take a nice little secluded and inexpensive getaway at some point.

Take some time to shop around online to come up with other ideas. Get them something a little out of the ordinary. They will be grateful that you put so much thought into it.
